Smart Building and Facility Management, non-thesis master's program started in 2019 under Energy Planning and Management Department of energy Institute, which is the only one in Turkey, has been prepared in order to train specialists especially demanded by facility management companies on the basis of sustainability.

Application Requirements (For T.C Nationality) ALES is not required. Undergraduate GPA must be minimum 2.2/4 (58/100). Graduation must be All Engineering, Energy Science and Technology, Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning. The teaching language method of this program is Turkish. English is not a requirement to start education.

Program Educational Objectives
To train masters of facility engineers combining the knowledge from a variety of scientific and engineering fields to empower University-Industry Collaboration.
Improve the awareness of sustainability and ecosystem.
Present the state of the art new generation applications on sustainable building and facility management.
Teach the design & management of building and facility automation.
Create the awareness of digitalization.

Measurement and Evaluation
Evaluating Student Success
The student success is evaluated considering Articles 56, 57, 58, and 59 of the Istanbul Technical University Graduate Education and Training Regulation Senate Principles.
ARTICLE 56 - Before the enrollment for the courses begins, the faculty member who offers the course informs the Program Executive Committee about the types, number and contribution percentage to the final grade of the studies within the semester, as well as requirements for a right to take the semester final exam. These requirements shall be finalized by approval of the Program Executive Committee and approval of the chair of the department, who declares them to the student and informs the Graduate School.
ARTICLE 57 - A student may appeal the final grade of a course within one week following the announcement of the grades. Appeals must be submitted to the Graduate School in writing. The relevant faculty member shall re-evaluate the student's success status and submit the result to the Graduate School within one week. Appeals not submitted within the prescribed time frame shall not be considered by the Graduate School.

Program Outcomes
P.O.1 Grasping interdisciplinary interaction related to social and technical fields in undergraduate level and developing and intensifying the current knowledge in that area of Smart Buildings and Facility Management; integrate with the knowledge from other scientific fields and evaluate them to create new knowledge (Knowledge).
P.O.2 By means of ability to use theoretical and practical information related to the area of Smart Buildings and Facility Management to combine and interpret them with information from different disciplines producing new information and solving the faced problems by related searching methods (Skill).
P.O.3 By means of the ability to critically analyze knowledge, skills and also a study related to the area of Smart Building and Facility Management that requires expertise on that area, directing and continuing independently, developing new strategies for the problems that are not foreseen and taking the responsibilities together with fulfilling the leader role, the ability to produce solutions for that problems (Competence to Work Independently, Competence to Take Responsibility, Competence to Learning).
