Computer Engineering (DDP, Bosnia&Herzegovina) International Joint Degree Programmes

The information and program qualifications related to the Computer Engineering (DDP, Bosnia&Herzegovina) International Joint Degree Programmes, under the Department of Computer Engineering of the Faculty of Computer and Informatics Engineering, are summarized below.

Information About The Program

Managed in partnership with the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), this initiative is a dual-diploma program. Pursuing an education across two distinct universities in two different countries facilitates a culturally immersive academic experience, providing students with the opportunity to live within and comprehend diverse cultural frameworks. Observing the pedagogical approaches of two different institutions and departments serves to diversify one’s learning methodologies and future strategies, fostering a more flexible intellectual perspective. Ultimately, holding two diplomas and the achievements earned throughout this academic journey provide multifaceted viewpoints for navigating professional and personal challenges.

Student admission to the joint program is subject to the annual quotas which are a maximum of five (5) students per year for Republic of Türkiye Citizens and a maximum of fifteen (15) students per year for Bosnia and Herzegovina Citizens.

Turkish citizens will be placed by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) based on their YKS (Higher Education Institutions Examination) results. Eligible candidates must rank within the top 20,000 in the "Numerical" (Sayısal) score category.

Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina must satisfy the criteria specified in the public call for applications, in accordance with the "Higher Education Law of the Sarajevo Canton." Candidates are required to have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0/5.0 (or its equivalent).

International students seeking admission must comply with the "Directive on Application, Registration, and Admission of International Students to Undergraduate Programs," approved by the ITU Senate on April 6, 2023 (Session No. 830).

The medium of instruction is English. To commence the first academic year, all enrolled students must achieve a passing score on the English proficiency examinations administered by either ITU or IUS which are minimum score of 65/100 from ITU Proficiency Exam or 75/100 from IUS Placement Exam or 65/100 from IUS Proficiency Exam.

Students who fail to meet these proficiency requirements must enroll in an intensive English language program at IUS. The maximum duration allowed for this preparatory program is two (2) years. Republic of Türkiye citizens who fail to fulfill the language requirement within this period may be redistributed by ÖSYM to a Turkish-medium program based on their original YKS scores.

During their tenure in Bosnia and Herzegovina, students are responsible for the program tuition fees determined by IUS, as well as the English Preparatory School fees, if applicable. All tuition and associated administrative fees shall be announced and collected by the respective host institution: IUS during the years of attendance in Sarajevo, and ITU during the years of attendance in Istanbul.
