The information and program qualifications related to the Electronics and Communications Engineering (New Jersey Institute of Technology) International Joint Degree Programmes, under the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, are summarized below.
Information About The Program
Having a 240 year prominent history, ITU is a public university that defines the professions of engineering and architecture in Turkey. ITU provides a modern education environment to the students while retaining its traditional values. ITU educates its students as future pioneers in engineering and architecture not only at the national but also at the international level by establishing strong relations with international institutions. ITU maintains International Accreditation in all of its undergraduate degree programs (ABET, EUA, NAAB, IMO).
Founded in 1881, NJIT is New Jersey's public, technological research university offering 136 bachelors, 41 masters and 19 doctoral degree programs. It is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission of Higher Education; individual programs may carry additional accreditation. NJIT is recognized as a top-tier research university and is among the top universities graduating minority engineers.
Starting from 2014, an international joint dual degree undergraduate program is offered together by the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of ITU and the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).
By starting this program, it is aimed to educate competent and internationally recognized engineers, equipped with advanced scientific and technological knowledge, who can keep up with rapidly evolving Electronics and Communication Technologies.
The 4-year undergraduate program that will be constituted in the area of Electronics and Communication Engineering is a dual diploma program. Students which successfully complete this undergraduate program will receive both a B.Sc. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from ITU and a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from NJIT.
The location schedule for this dual degree program will be as follows:
4 Year Undergraduate Education
Freshman/1st Academic Year- ITU (Turkey)
Sophomore/2nd Academic Year- NJIT (USA)
Junior/3rd Academic Year- ITU (Turkey)
Senior/4th Academic Year- NJIT (USA)
