"Engineering Management is a discipline for taking and implementing the most appropriate decisions in the management of existing and emerging technologies and related systems. It deals with issues at both strategic and operational levels."
Engineering Management is to organize, plan, manage and control the activities of engineers, scientists, designers and other technical and non-technical personnel to achieve the desired objectives in the design, manufacture, construction, operation or maintenance of a product, device, structure or machine.

The difference of the engineering management programs from the MBA programs is to provide the engineers with the knowledge and skills to use these qualities more effectively and efficiently without removing them from their existing technical knowledge and skills.

Engineering Management is the management of engineering and applied sciences. Engineering Management is for engineers who are in a position to make strategic and operational decisions on existing and future technologies. Engineering Management is to improve efficiency, quality and global competitiveness, to maintain technological level, to create new business areas. Program Profile

The educational objectives of the program are to cultivate graduates who have gained specialization through a curriculum covering diverse engineering disciplines, are competitive in national and international business environments, and are preferred for senior management roles with a holistic understanding of business operations.

ALES Numerical must be minimum 55 (old system GRE Quantitative minimum 610, new system GRE minimum 149 ). Undergraduate GPA must be minimum 2.3/4 (60.33/100). Graduation must be All Engineering. Graduates of all engineering programs other than Industrial Engineering and Management Engineering are eligible to apply. English proficiency is not required for application. Students who are admitted to the program without a valid English language certificate can complete their registration but will not be allowed to take any courses until they provide a valid English language certificate. Evaluating Student Success
The student success is evaluated considering Articles 56, 57, 58, and 59 of the Istanbul Technical University Graduate Education and Training Regulation Senate Principles.

ARTICLE 56 - Before the enrollment for the courses begins, the faculty member who offers the course informs the Program Executive Committee about the types, number and contribution percentage to the final grade of the studies within the semester, as well as requirements for a right to take the semester final exam. These requirements shall be finalized by approval of the Program Executive Committee and approval of the chair of the department, who declares them to the student and informs the Graduate School.

ARTICLE 57 - A student may appeal the final grade of a course within one week following the announcement of the grades. Appeals must be submitted to the Graduate School in writing. The relevant faculty member shall re-evaluate the student's success status and submit the result to the Graduate School within one week. Appeals not submitted within the prescribed time frame shall not be considered by the Graduate School.

ARTICLE 58 - Courses in graduate programs shall be evaluated according to the following grading system.

ARTICLE 59 - Students who wish to improve their cumulative grade point average may retake courses during the course-taking period. The most recent grade will be counted for the repeated courses.

Graduation Requirements

To qualify for graduation, students must successfully complete a total of 12 credit courses (36 Credits) and a non-credit term project. The specific requirements are as follows:
- Coursework: Students are required to pass all 8 compulsory courses and select 4 elective courses from the available pool.
- Term Project: In their 3rd semester, each student must conduct an "Engineering Management Project" on a topic aligned with the program's objectives, subject to the approval of their assigned advisor.
- Program Duration: The program must be completed within a maximum of 3 consecutive semesters.
- Academic Standing: A minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 out of 4.00 is required for graduation.
