Program Educational Objectives

• To educate students who are familiar with the general characteristics of music and traditional instruments musically and acoustically, and to develop their achievements in this direction, both through scientific research that contributes to our culture, and in albums, concerts, studios, etc., which they will carry out in the professional music and art worlds. to demonstrate their work.
• To ensure that students gain the ability to blend their knowledge with traditional culture while keeping up with the rapidly changing world and closely following international developments in the field of music technologies, and in this process, creating national and international opportunities for students' education and personal development.
• To prepare an environment where students can exchange information they may need during their studies and to encourage new research and theories to be put forward in this scientific and creative environment.
•To educate graduates who have theoretical and practical knowledge on Sound Recording, Mixing, Editing, Mastering, Live Performance and Recording Systems, Sound Restoration and Cleaning, Transfer Between Different Sound Environments, Cinema-Performing Arts-Sound Design for Contemporary Art.
•To train professionals who have knowledge of the scientific methods required in the field of Sound Design, have investigative features, and can approach their work with an innovative and creative perspective,
•To raise young people who are knowledgeable about local and universal problems related to the subject and have a perspective that can offer solutions to these problems, and to ensure that these students contribute to the science of music technologies with studies that will shed light on future generations,
•To carry out studies to eliminate the lack of Turkish literature related to the field,
•To provide an environment where artists and academicians working in related fields can use their education, research and consultancy potential,
•To ensure the continuous improvement of the education given on sound design by establishing national and international connections with similar departments,
•To approach the field of Sound Design and Instrument Making with an interdisciplinary perspective, and to use the theoretical and practical experience of sound theories in fields such as contemporary art, architecture, cinema, medicine, linguistics, philosophy, anthropology, or in studies to be conducted with these fields.
•To train artists and researchers who have theoretical and practical knowledge in experimental fields such as Sound Art, Electronic and Electro-Acoustic Music, Sound Installation, Spatial Sound, Interactive Sound Processing and Performance Technologies.
•To train musical instrument makers who can work on the production and restoration of Turkish Music instruments.

Program Employment Opportunities

Graduates of the music technology undergraduate program majoring in sound design can be employed as researchers, academics, educators, consultants, etc., in their careers. They will also have the opportunity to work in private or state television and radio, private sector studios and concert organizations, production and post-production companies operating in the field of motion pictures, TV series and video games. Graduates who have majored in instrument making can be employed in the luthier staff of State Choirs, TRT and state operas, as well as they can establish their own private workshops. The rapidly growing industry needs innovative and competent employees who follow the developments in their field.
