Information About The Program
The purpose of program is to foster industrial engineers who have outstanding educational background in engineering theory and applications, who have a global state-of-art engineering education, and who will be technology-driven, innovative leaders in the field of industrial engineering.
The first (freshman) and third (junior) years of the program will be carried out in ITU while the second (sophomore) and fourth (senior) years will be carried out at Binghamton University. Students who fulfill the academic requirements of both institutions shall be granted two separate bachelor’s diplomas at the same time, one of which is to be issued by ITU, and the other by Binghamton University in the field of industrial engineering. Students who successfully complete their first year at ITU with a GPA of 2.0 and above and have successfully completed the required prerequisite courses will transition to Binghamton University for their second year. GPA requirement is same for sophomore and junior students.
The maximum number of students with Turkish Republic citizenship completing secondary education in Turkey to be admitted to the program by virtue of their YKS exam score will be 25 in any given academic year.
Students with YKS rankings below 100,000 are allowed in the program and any students whose rankings above the requirement will not be placed in the program.

Program Employment Opportunities
Industrial and systems engineering is concerned with the design, improvement and installation of integrated systems of people, materials, information, equipment and energy. It draws upon specialized knowledge and skill in the mathematical, physical, and social sciences together with the principles and methods of engineering analysis and design, to specify, predict, and evaluate the results to be obtained from such systems.
