Information About The Program
Istanbul Technical University Satellite Communication and Remote Sensing Masterprogram aims to build a research platform which will contribute to scientific development and expertise of Turkey and to train researchers and scholars whom will contribute to Turkey’s needs in remote sensing and communication technologies. Research topics of the program include but are not limited to generation of data obtained by propagation of electromagnetic waves, signal and image processing of optical and radar based remote sensing data and also to archive and transfer aforementioned data with communication techniques.

Undergraduate GPA must be minimum 2.7/4 (69.66/100). Graduation must be Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Physical, Physics Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geodesy and Photogrammetry Engineering, Control and Automation Engineering, Meteorological Engineering.

Program Educational Objectives
Program contributes to national needs by training expert personnel capable of working in the main application areas of remote sensing such as analysis and administration of natural resources, research of environmental quality, yield analysis of agricultural crops, urban planning, disaster management, land use/cover, economic development and human/health security. Moreover, program creates an interdisciplinary education with the contribution of students from various disciplines.

Evaluating Student Success
The student success is evaluated considering Articles 56, 57, 58, and 59 of the Istanbul Technical University Graduate Education and Training Regulation Senate Principles.
ARTICLE 56 - Before the enrollment for the courses begins, the faculty member who offers the course informs the Program Executive Committee about the types, number and contribution percentage to the final grade of the studies within the semester, as well as requirements for a right to take the semester final exam. These requirements shall be finalized by approval of the Program Executive Committee and approval of the chair of the department, who declares them to the student and informs the Graduate School.
ARTICLE 57 - A student may appeal the final grade of a course within one week following the announcement of the grades. Appeals must be submitted to the Graduate School in writing. The relevant faculty member shall re-evaluate the student's success status and submit the result to the Graduate School within one week. Appeals not submitted within the prescribed time frame shall not be considered by the Graduate School.

ARTICLE 59 - Students who wish to improve their cumulative grade point average may retake courses during the course-taking period. The most recent grade will be counted for the repeated courses.

Tezli yüksek lisans programı
MADDE 3- Tezli yüksek lisans programlarında:
a) Yüksek lisanstan mezuniyet için ağırlıklı genel not ortalamasının en az 3.00 olması, seminer dersi ve tez çalışmasının başarıyla tamamlanması gerekir.
b) Derslerini, seminer dersini ve tez çalışmasını başarı ile tamamlamış ve ağırlıklı genel not ortalaması en az 3.00 olan öğrenciler daha kısa sürede mezun olabilirler.
c) Başarısızlık veya azami sürenin dolması nedeniyle öğrencinin Üniversite ile ilişiğinin kesilmesine ilişkin işlemler Yükseköğretim Kurulu Başkanlığı tarafından 20.04.2016 tarihli 29690 sayılı Resmi Gazete de yayımlanan “Lisansüstü Eğitim ve Öğretim Yönetmeliği” ile buna bağlı olarak Üniversitemiz tarafından hazırlanmış olan yönetmelik hükümlerine göre yürütülür.
